I got durian-flavored popsicles from the ethnic grocery because I wanted to see what all that fuss was about on The Travel Channel.
Good God... They taste like a frozen puree of an orange creamsicle and a salted onion. Sorry Bourdain, but I guess we're not MFEO after all.

Have you ever watched the other Travel Food guy? Andrew Zimmer-somethingorother? He will eat anything and then talk about how yummy it is. But even he couldn't do the durian. After a year or so of watching him, the durian is one of only two things I've seen him not rave about.
I actually love Durian ice cream. I know, it has an odor, and I can smell a portion of it. But I also can smell the sweet portion. And I like it.
I had some when I was at an Indonesian restaurant a week ago. Mmm, Mmm, good.
